Info
Victoria Falls is one of the world’s largest and most famous waterfalls, located on the Zambezi River between Zambia and Zimbabwe and recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World; it forms a massive curtain of water about 1.7 km wide dropping over 100 metres into a series of deep basalt gorges, creating the powerful “Smoke that Thunders” mist that can be seen from kilometres away, while the surrounding area supports diverse wildlife including elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and antelope within nearby parks such as Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park; visitors experience a wide range of activities such as guided waterfall tours, helicopter flights, sunset cruises on the Zambezi River, white-water rafting, bungee jumping, and cultural visits, with the best viewing depending on the season—high water (Feb–May) offering the most dramatic flow and low water (Aug–Dec) providing clearer views and better adventure activities.
